Opened in March 2024, Rongorri is the culmination of Yirong's dream, a visionary young chef who has dedicated his life to a passion for gastronomy and the desire to share his cultural heritage through food.
Born in Fujian, China, but raised in the heart of Bilbao, Yirong embodies the fusion of cultures that brings every dish served at Rongorri to life. From a young age, Yirong displayed an innate talent in the kitchen, inspired by the aromas and flavors that filled his home's kitchen. His love for Basque roots led him to pursue his dream of opening his own restaurant from a young age.
With a solid background from the prestigious Basque Culinary Center and extensive experience in traditional Getaria cuisine, Yirong merges authenticity and precision in every dish he creates. From classics like bacalao al pil-pil to innovative fusions with Oriental flavors, Yirong's cuisine is a masterpiece that reflects his personality: authentic, innovative, and universally appealing.
